Does God hear and answer a sinner’s prayer?

To understand the answer to this question, one must first realize that all have sin, and have cut themselves away from God. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23-24, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

1 John 5:14-15 states; this is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him.

God answers prayers based on whether they are asked according to His will. This principle, perhaps, applies to unbelievers. If an unbeliever asks a prayer of God that is according to His will, nothing prevents God from answering such a prayer according to His will.

If you want God to hear your prayers, the first step is to open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as your personal Savior.

A few Bible Scriptures to guide the question asked.

Romans 3:10-11 as it is written, “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Matthew 27:44 in the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him. Matthew record that both thieves were railing him. Yet one of them repented and asks to be with Christ in paradise. Jesus heard and answered his prayer.

Acts 10:4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. Cornelius prayers were heard.

Matthew 7: 7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

1 John 1: 9-10 if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
